Couples You Wouldn’t Believe Are Still Together

David Muir & Kate Dries | Undisclosed

David Muir may be reporting the news to us on ABC World News Tonight and 20/20, but the man is very private about his own life. Well, you can’t really complain about someone’s preference to be private. However, fans are curious to know more about him.

For example, when Kate Dries from Vice reported their supposed relationship in 2015, it wouldn’t have hurt Muir to confirm or deny it. But he didn’t. Dries was pretty graphic with the details, explaining the immediate connection they developed, Muir’s busy schedule, their time in Rome, and whatnot, according to Jezebel. It’s unclear if they’re still together, if at all.

Barack Obama & Michelle Obama | 29 Years

Barack Obama will go down in history as the first-ever African-American President of the United States. He served for two terms and, while he had his haters, he was considered a very popular public servant. His widespread popularity is perhaps only surpassed by his wife’s: after all, who doesn’t love the beautiful and charismatic Michelle Obama?

Barack and Michelle met in the Summer of 1989, back when Michelle worked at a Chicago law firm. After dating for roughly two years, they became engaged and finally tied the knot in 1992. They have two lovely daughters together, and they’ve recently attended Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration.

Ted Cruz & Heidi Cruz | 20 Years

The American politician/attorney Ted Cruz serves as the U.S. Senator from Texas, but he’s recently been under the line of fire at the Loner Star State. In 2021, he unwisely decided to take a short vacation in sunny Cancún when Texans were experiencing a harsh, wintery power crisis. The press heavily criticized Cruz’s trip.

But we guess Cruz’s good name can take a hit and still survive to tell the story. Fortunately, the Senator counts with the loving support of his wife of 20 years, Heidi Cruz. She’s a managing director at Goldman Sachs who served under George W. Bush in the White House.

Joe Biden & Jill Biden | 44 Years

The U.S. President Joe Biden was having a rough time before meeting his wife of 44 years, the teacher Jill Jacobs. He was a widower since 1972, the year that marked the tragic deaths of his first wife Neilia and one-year daughter Naomi, both deceased in a car accident. According to Biden, Jill was responsible for renewing his interest “in politics and life.”

Biden overcame tragedy in a big way by becoming one of America’s most distinguished political players. He was chosen to be Barack Obama’s Vice President in 2009 and made it all the way to the top seat at the White House in 2021.

Mike Pence & Karen Pence | 36 Years

From Governor of Indiana to 48th Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence is a household name of the Republican Party. At the age of 61, Pence has been rumored to be a potential 2024 presidential candidate, but only time will tell what his next move will be.

A future presidential candidate or not, one thing’s for sure: Pence does not need change when it comes to love. He married his wife of 36 years in 1985, and the two have been inseparable since. She’s Karen Pence, an American schoolteacher/painter. They met in church and enjoyed their first date in an ice skating rink.

Bill Clinton & Hillary Clinton | 46 Years

No matter the challenge, Bill and Hillary Clinton have always found the strength they needed to stay together. They met while in college and have been inseparable ever since: they tied the knot in 1975, had their only child in 1980, and went on to conquer the world as a couple.

In 1993, Clinton became the third youngest-ever U.S. President and served for two terms. He was extremely popular amongst the American people, but his presidency was tainted by a major scandal involving an extramarital affair. In 2016, Hillary was chosen to be the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate but ended up losing the election to Donald Trump.

Mitch McConnell & Elaine Chao | 28 Years

The Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is a lucky, lucky man. While his political talent is undeniable, he may be even more skilled in the arts of seduction. In 1993, he tied the knot with the beautiful Elaine Chao, an American businesswoman/politician who has recently served as Donald Trump’s U.S. Secretary of Transportation. Before, she worked as the 24th U.S. Secretary of Labor under George W. Bush.

Before tying the knot with Chao, McConnell was married to Sherrill Redmon, with whom he had three children. McConnell and Chao have been an item for 28 years now, and their outstanding political careers shine as bright as their shared love story.

George W. Bush & Laura Bush | 44 Years

George W. Bush was the 43rd President of the United States and one of the most charismatic figures in the recent history of the Republican Party. He ruled for two terms, and his tenure as President was marked by 9/11 and the subsequential Iraq War. But could he have done it all without the loving support of his wife of 44 years?

Bush met his wife Laura at a barbecue party not long after being engaged to another woman. At the time, the future First Lady was a teacher/librarian. George and Laura hit it off almost immediately and decided to get married after a short courtship period of just three months.

Ayanna Pressley & Conan Harris | 7 Years

The beautiful Ayanna Pressley has been serving as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts since 2019. A former member of the Boston City Council, she’s Massachusetts’ first-ever African-American Congress representative.

Pressley lives in Boston with her husband of seven years, the consultant Conan Harris, and his stepdaughter. In January 2020, she made the headlines after being diagnosed with alopecia, which caused her to lose all of her hair. A confident and fearless political player, Pressley is a self-described “woman of faith” and an outspoken supporter of criminal justice reform.
