When talking about soccer legends, Pele ranks high up the list. While his own memorabilia, including autographed jersey and photos, fetch a tidy sum, Pele enjoys collecting sports merchandise. He’s indulged in the luxury over the course of his career and his collection includes the medals he earned along the way.
In 2016, he decided to auction off the entire collection he had amassed explaining that it was a tough decision but the artifacts required a lot of care. At some point, the collection was valued at over $4 million. Pele planned to donate the proceeds partly to fund a Brazil-based pediatric hospital.
