Phil Collins – Alamo Artifacts
Musician Phil Collins is one of the celebrities who like to collect pieces of historical artifacts. Collins has spent years gathering memorabilia connected to the American frontier and the Alamo. Rolling Stone estimates his collection to include about 200 items including rarities like David Crockett’s fringed leather-made pouch.
Collins explained that as he got older and started having an inkling towards collecting valuable items, he chose to go for historical artifacts over a luxury car collection. Watching a documentary about the history-changing 1836 battle on TV piqued his interest in Crockett, and that’s why he set about collecting the memorabilia. In 2014, Collins donated his collection valued at $100M to a museum in Texas.
