Melissa Sue Anderson started her professional career in television commercials and making guest appearances on shows before getting her dream role as Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie, the role she is best known for. According to Anderson, it was the highlight of her career.

After her successful eight-year stint on the hit show, Anderson continued to act but was unable to follow up on her initial success. She has made notable appearances in Happy Birthday to Me, 10.5: Apocalypse, and The Equalizer. Despite retiring in 2002, Anderson made a brief appearance in The Con Is On (2018). Today, she devotes most of her time to family and kids.

Shirley Anne Field, Age 85 – Saturday Night and Sunday Morning

One of the most esteemed British actresses, Shirley Anne Field, began her career as a photo model to pay for her education while also playing brief roles in films. Her modeling gigs caught the attention of a talent agency, and she was cast in Tony Richardson’s The Entertainer, playing Tina the Beauty Queen. Very soon, she would find her face plastered over billboards and film promos in city squares.

Field is best known for her performances in Peeping Tom, Wild for Kicks, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, and The Damned. Today, she is more interested in British theater and Broadway, having appeared in 2017’s A Judgement in Stone.

Following the end of her sitcom in 1960, Chapin’s life took a turn for the worst, and she struggled with substance abuse and domestic financial disputes. Her court cases with her mother, coupled with her controversial habits, led Chapin to bankruptcy. To make ends meet, she was forced to become a female escort and was subsequently jailed. Today, Chapin has a $6-million fortune, made a full recovery, and has found solace in faith and religion.

Ron Howard, Age 67 – The Andy Griffith Show

Howard hit the jackpot with one of his earliest acting gigs on the popular 1954 television series The Andy Griffith Show as Opie Taylor. After making his directorial debut in Grand Theft Auto in 1977, Howard has gone on to direct blockbusters like A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, and Frost/Nixon. Howard and his brother Clint are set to release their memoir The Boy: A Memoir of Hollywood and Family.
