Then, suddenly, it clicked. “The bear!” Hana exclaimed, her voice full of disbelief at the idea that had just hit her. “It can carry the last one!” Her eyes widened as she recalled, “I saw it bring the first creature into the hospital.”
A wave of hope surged through them both. Without wasting a moment, Hana and Peter carefully bundled the creatures into their makeshift carriers. The bear stood nearby, alert and poised, watching them with intent eyes. Gently, Hana lifted the last little creature and placed it into the bear’s open mouth. The bear’s jaw closed softly, securing the tiny animal with surprising tenderness.
