Although Jo Joyner famously portrays Ackley Bridge’s Mindy Carter, a headteacher who doesn’t want children, her real-life marriage situation is the exact opposite. Joyner and her long-time husband Neil Madden had tried their hardest for several years to have children.
Apart from taking a hiatus from her hectic filming schedule, the EastEnders actress also underwent IVF therapy before successfully giving birth to twins Edie and Freddie. Joyner met Madden in 2002, and the two had a five-year relationship before exchanging their wedding vows in 2007.
