Celebrity Couples That Are Still Together
Celebrity romance, it comes, and it goes, right? Not always, though. Some relationships blossom into beautiful marriages that stand the test of time. The bad thing about that is it’s surprising when you come across a long celebrity marriage, the good thing about it is that there’s hope for these relationships yet.
From Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn to Danny De Vito and Rhea Perlman and even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (Okay, they haven’t stood the test of time), we look at various longstanding relationships, the facts behind them and try to find the quirks that keep them going.
Chris Wallace & Lorraine Martin Smothers | 23 Years
According to Lorraine, her marriage to Chris Wallace is kept strong and together by a traditional Sunday lunch soup. Especially with Chris working early Sunday mornings. The tradition became so popular with the family that Lorraine decided to create a cookbook with her soup recipes, which were published in 2010 and called Mr. Sunday Recipes.
Both Wallace and Smothers have been married before. Wallace was married to his first wife, Elizabeth Farrell, longer than he’s been with his current wife. But all its going to take is a few more Sunday soups, and that will change.
Sam Elliott & Katharine Ross | 35 Years
Forget about Tim Burton and Tom Selleck; Sam Elliot is the true king of the tache. Although it’s not clear when Elliot started wearing a mustache, he is recognized by it, and when he had to shave it off for his role in the series Justified, he said he feels naked.
The one thing we believe has lasted longer than his mustache is his marriage to Katherine Ross. They met when they both had minor roles in the iconic western Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. They took it slow, only started dating in 1978, and married in 1984. Elliot most recently starred in the Netflix comedy series, The Ranch.
Mickey Rourke & Anastassija Makarenko | 11 Years
Mickey Rourke has had a tumultuous life, from drug addiction to a failed boxing career and botched cosmetic surgery. But he remains an A-list actor, and he is also still a hit with the ladies so much that he is currently in a relationship with a 34-year-old Russian model.
The model in question is Anastassija Makarenko, who is famous for her role alongside Bruce Willis in A Good Day To Die Hard. They have been an item since 2009 when Rourke was 56, and she was 23. Rourke will star in the 2020 crime thriller, Adverse.
Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn | 37 Years
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have a son together named Wyatt Russel. Goldie’s daughter from her previous marriage, Kate Hudson, considers Russell to be her father. They own five houses in various locations, including New York, Vancouver, and Brentwood, and have starred in three movies together.
They’re married in every sense, except legally. Hawn believes that if they were married, they would have been divorced a long time ago, and as they have had a few bumps and separations. But they’re still together 37 years later and are doing it together in a movie again, as Mr. and Mrs. Clause in A Christmas Chronicle 2.
