He started out only designing clothing for men but he eventually branched out to women’s clothing and even perfumes. His brand became so successful that he now has a fortune of $400 million. He is no longer the main owner of Tommy Hilfiger anymore as it was sold to Apax Partners in 2006. The company purchased his brand for a staggering $1.6 billion. However, Hilfiger is still the principal designer of the company.
