Zooey Deschanel made her on-screen debut in 1999 in the comedy film Mumford. She is also known for appearing in Almost Famous, The Good Girl and the Fox sitcom, New Girl. Her role as Jessica Day on the series earned her three Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy Award nomination. Deschanel also performed as a member of If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies, a jazz cabaret, alongside actress Samantha Shelton. She then collaborated with musician M. Ward, forming the musical duo She & Him and they have released a total of six albums. Deschanel co-founded the lifestyle and entertainment website HelloGiggles which Time Inc. bought in 2015.
