Betty Lynn began her five-decade career in the late ’40s with her first credited role in the film Sitting Pretty. Her breakthrough came when she was cast for the role of Thelma Lou in The Andy Griffith Show. However, after four decades, she decided to take a break from acting in front of the camera.
It was in 2006 when she decided to officially retire from the industry and enjoy the fruits of her success. It has been 48 years since The Andy Griffith Show ended its production, but it still has reruns and remains in the hearts of many.
