Born Peggy Josephine Varnadow, Peggy Dow is a retired actress and philanthropist. Peggy did some modeling and worked on the radio for a brief period of time before she ventured into the movie industry. She signed a contract and started appearing in films but she quit acting after only three years to marry an oil driller from Tulsa named Walter Helmerich III.
Financial planning in retirement certainly wasn’t an issue since Walter was the president of the family business. They remained together until his death in 2012.
