Kathleen Doyle Bates was born on the 28th of June, 1948. She is an actress and director from the United States. She has received numerous awards for her roles in comedic and dramatic films and television shows, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as nominations for a Tony Award and two British Academy Film Awards.
Her role as Annie Wilkes in the tense psychological thriller Misery (1990) marked her Hollywood debut, earning her an Academy Award for Best Actress. She attends the United Methodist Church and is a registered Democrat.
