Assante, a four-time Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award winner, has been hailed as an “Actor’s Actor” for nearly 50 years. He is most remembered for his portrayals as gangster John Gotti in the 1996 HBO television drama “Gotti,” Nietzsche in “When Nietzsche Wept,” and Mike Hammer in 1982’s “I, the Jury” with Mickey Spillane.
