Penny Marshall – Baseball Memorabilia
The late Penny Marshall left a legacy behind having directed some of the best productions, including Awakenings and The Preacher’s Wife. She’s also remembered for her love affair with sports memorabilia. As a Yankees fan, her collection was built around the team’s memorabilia.
She never missed the annual National Sports Collectors’ Convention, where she often picked up new items to add to her collection. Her collection featured lots of modern-era jerseys and vintage baseball photos that she picked up when visiting Cuba in 2001. She had a Michael Jordan jersey in her collection, which fetched about $52K.
