Maria Sharapova is a former Russian tennis player who was part of the WTA tour between 2001 and 2020. She has resided in the US since the mid-’90s but professionally competed on behalf of her motherland. In addition to being World No. 1 for 21 weeks and one of the ten women to hold the career Grand Slam, Sharapova’s name will go down in tennis history.
The 33-year-old’s trophy cabinet will also display the silver medal she won at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Through her almost two-decade-long career, Sharapova has made a fortune of $180 million. We’ll have to wait and see what her post-retirement life has in store.
