Her acting career reached its peak when she won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Actress in 1988 for her role as a district attorney Grace van Owen in L.A. Law. Dey mentioned that she was grateful for her character as many women came up to her and said that her role as van Owen was the reason they want to become the best crime lawyer.
