Whether it’s Captain Kirk or TJ Hooker, William Shatner must be quite used to being called everything but his name. Shatner and the Star Trek franchise have been tightly intertwined ever since the series was first filmed. In a rather strange news update from Space.com, Shatner is supporting a change to the 2021 National Defence Authorization Act fondly given the nickname the “Starfleet Amendment.”
Captain James T. Kirk wants the title of colonel to be replaced by the captain, and he has reached out asking the U.S. Space Force to make the change directly. It seems 2020 has been a big year for Shatner as he releases a new album, The Blues, in October, covering classic blues with Ritchie Blackmore.
