Former fashion model and critically acclaimed actress, Cicely Tyson is currently the oldest actor or actress to receive an Emmy nomination. Cicely has already taken two Emmy Awards before. The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman won her the 1974 Emmy for Actress of the Year and Best Lead Actress in a Drama. Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All won her Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Special in 1994.
In 2020, Tyson was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame. The year also brought her another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Ophelia Harkness in How to Get Away with Murder.
