She had set a record then, for being the first African American to win the title. The beauty pageant became a stepping stone for Williams, because she pursued a career in singing and acting after her stint in the said beauty pageant. The last time Williams was visible on TV was through the hit TV show Ugly Betty. Now 58, the actress doesn’t seem to age, looking as beautiful as she did in 1984 when she won the country’s most coveted beauty title.
