Elinor Donahue was bit by the acting bug when she was young. In her teens, she bagged the role of Betty ‘Princess’ Anderson in the 1950s CBS sitcom Father Knows Best, a portrayal that put her on the map. She went on to star in The Andy Griffith Show (as Ellie Walker) and Many Happy Returns (Joan Randall).
At the turn of the millennium, Donahue only accepted a few acting projects. She was last seen in the show The Young and the Restless, where she played Judge Marie Anderson from 2010 to 2011. These days, it’s hard to track her as she has kept a low profile for a decade.
