Morton Lyon Sahl is considered by many as one of the first modern stand-up comedians. He developed a revolutionary style of comedy where he used social satire to make fun of political situations and current affairs. Reportedly, John. F Kennedy was a big fan of him and asked him to write jokes for his speeches.
However, during the ’60s he career declined. It wasn’t until the beginning of the ’70s that he was able to make a comeback. In 2013, he starred in the film Max Rose. Sahl’s love life is not as great as his career though, because all his three marriages ended up in divorce.
