The Brightest Stars Of The ’80s And Where They Ended Up
Mireille Mathieu – 77
Mireille Mathieu is a significant name in French music. She rose to stardom by executing seven consecutive performances on Télé-Dimanche and a concert at the Paris Olympia. She went on to acclaim further success and has recorded over 1000 songs in 11 languages. With more than 122 million record sales worldwide, she is one of the most profitable French singers.
Although pop and rock music dominated the charts, Mathieu remained a famous artist in France and Europe. She has preferred to keep a more private life as she aged, yet we can re-watch her appearance on the 2019 series “Touche pas à mon poste!”
Mr. T – 71
Mr. T had a very unusual upbringing in a family of twelve children and in a crime-riddled neighborhood at that! He wound up as a celebrity bodyguard and worked for the likes of Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and Muhammad Ali.

He then found fame as a star in his own right with Rocky III and The A-Team. He is a towering man and a born-again Christian—and he’s got a soft heart! He gave up his gold jewelry to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Elisabeth Shue – 60

She was so eager to become an actress, that one semester shy of completing her studies at Harvard University in 1985, Elisabeth Shue withdrew to begin a career in acting. She was seen in various productions which included the Back to the Future franchise, Adventures in Babysitting, and The Karate Kid. Shue didn’t just leave her higher studies hanging though. In 2000, she returned to Harvard to earn a B.A. in Political Science. In the movies Death Wish in 2018 and Battle of the S**** in 2017, she was cast as a supporting character.
Debbie Harry – 78

The multi-talented Deborah Harry gained popularity back in the ’70s and the ’80s as the lead singer of the band, Blondie. While with the band, her recordings hit the waves, reaching the number one spot on both the US and UK charts. In 1981, the then-36-year-old triumphed as a solo artist, and she subsequently released five solo albums. Not only is Debbie Harry a singer/songwriter, but she is also into acting and modeling who has featured in several movies during the course of her career. Harry dedicates her time to charity work, particularly to causes that aim at battling cancer.
Jason Patric – 57

Jason Patric is a descendant of Jackie Gleeson, the famous comedian-actor who happens to be his grandfather. Jason opted not to be a comedian, but rather to take on serious roles in films like those in The Lost Boys, Rush, Speed 2: Cruise Control, and even Sleepers. While he hasn’t slipped into retirement just yet, his projects and his roles have slowed over the recent years. He has just recently received parental rights over his son, who was conceived through artificial insemination.
