Actress Helen Slater became very popular in her Supergirl role in the ’80s and had made good money because of it. A guest appearance to play Jerry Seinfeld’s romantic interest on the sitcom Seinfeld was because Jerry’s a big Superman fan in real life. On television’s Smallville, Slater was the biological mother of Clark Kent.
Since 2015, Slater has been playing Supergirl’s adopted mom in the current Supergirl TV series. Additionally, she made appearances on various dramatic comedies like The Secret of My Success, and Ruthless People. Her latest film stint was in 2016’s A Remarkable Life.
