Not all the attention Fox received was good though. There was a time when $1 million of her pay disappeared and it led to an ugly case where Fox sued her father, with the ordeal ending in a settlement. Her last appearance was on an episode of The Odd Couple in 2016 as a part of a tribute to Garry K. Marshall, a TV and movie writer, and producer who died in 2016. He was the one she thanked for all the significant salaries she was able to have, as it was he who made her big acting break possible.

There are certain men and women who just seem perfectly tailored for a role. And if the artist is lucky, then they’ll go down in history for their work on that character. And you might not even know this, but Linda’s leg was the one used for the movie poster of the full movie The Graduate. Phoebe Cates grew famous for her performance in Gremlins and also for her excellent acting skills in Fast Times at Ridgemont High—a movie described by The Rolling Stones magazine as the most memorable bikini-drop in cinema history. The reason why we don’t see her gracing the screens with her charming smile and talent any longer is that in 2001 she left acting to try out her hand at being an entrepreneur then later in retirement as a homemaker.

Andrew McCarthy – 56

You must recognize him from either St. Elmo’s Fire, Pretty in Pink or Class. But if you don’t, you definitely know him from the popular shows Royal Pains and White Collar. Roth can be found doing several YouTube commentaries as a side job, too. Rumors surfaced about him having announced his retirement from music, creating quite a stir earlier this year!

Jane Fonda – 82

>Jane Fonda, the much-credited fitness expert, activist, and actress, doesn’t need to be introduced. The road of fame began for her in the 1960s. During the 1970s going into the 1980s, she kept traveling this road. Fonda has put out a slew of fitness videos that she has done over time and has made a fortune from. Sure she’s wealthy and a high achiever, but she hasn’t had a picture-perfect life. For instance, in years gone by, she had eating problems and a cancer diagnosis. We’re happy she beat both. The Goldene Kamera award for lifetime achievement was presented to her in 2017.

Tom Selleck – 75

In the ’80s, Tom Selleck was a star shining bright, mainly because of his continuing role as Thomas Magnum on the crime drama series, Magnum P.I. In 1987, his recognition rocketed with the starring role of Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby.

Even though he isn’t as active as he used to be, Selleck, now aged 75, continues to appear as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods. He could retire when he chooses to, as he is now worth $45 million. We must note that he has distanced himself from Hollywood and is living in a secluded avocado ranch in Thousand Oaks with his wife.
