DeGeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi, whom she met in 2004 and wed in 2008, was one of the people who rushed by the funny woman’s side, launching the I Stand By Ellen campaign. The couple has always gushed about each other in interviews, including in 2016 when the Scandal star called her better half her best friend with whom she talks about anything.
