Twelve puppies were already a handful, but what caught everyone’s attention was the mix of colors. Labs usually come in black, yellow, or chocolate, with black being the dominant and original color. Chocolate was once rare, and yellow had been around for a while. But Lola’s litter was different.
It had every shade from black, chocolate, yellow, and even a rare silver pup. That silver pup was the odd one out. A litter this colorful was strange enough, but it was also confusing. Dr. Greene looked from Lola to the puppies, his mind racing. Something wasn’t right, and it went beyond genetics.
