The more Dr. Greene examined Miracle, the more unsettled he became. Something about this litter didn’t sit right. He turned to Mrs. Thompson, his voice gentle, and asked if any of the other puppies shared Miracle’s unique eyes. She nodded and replied, “Destiny does.”
Like Miracle, Destiny had the same striking blue and brown eyes and the same white chest marking. She even had a curled tail, which was unusual for Labradors. Dr. Greene’s brows furrowed. Two puppies with the same rare features in one litter? That couldn’t be a coincidence. Whatever was happening, it was challenging everything he thought he knew about genetics.
