As much as the Hughes were concerned with Storie’s immediate needs, they also made plans for the future. Fifteen dogs were already a lot, and with Storie joining the family, they now had 16 dogs under their care. But once the new pups were born, they would have to consider fostering.
Could they cope with that much responsibility? It would be a huge undertaking. They had no idea how they would handle it. Still, they hoped more than ever that the pups would at least be born healthy. The couple believed other issues could be easily resolved as long as they came without complications.
