But for all the good they did, Mariesa and Chris couldn’t deny that fostering had certain drawbacks. Yes, they were very determined to change the future of many dogs by providing them with a safe environment removed from the cruelty and neglect of their past.
Yet this wasn’t an easy way to live. No one else would be entirely responsible for the dogs’ training. It was up to them to set boundaries and ensure that the dogs adhered to the rules of the home. Setting up a routine would also be hard work, and sometimes they could go days without getting adequate rest.
