The Morning After
When morning came, there was a heightened sense of anticipation in the air. The sun peeked through the windows of the Hughes bedroom, welcoming a new day. On any other day, they would have freshened up and begun checking chores off their list. But that morning, Storie was their priority.
As they walked toward her room, they were surprised to hear noises. Could it be that some of the other dogs had made their way into the room? But as they opened the door, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Storie had delivered her pups at night. And now they were all nestled at her belly, nursing happily.
