Jeremy Hunt – Undershaw, Undisclosed
Jeremy Richard Streynsham Hunt, the Chair of the Health and Social Care Select Committee, received a $10K donation from a charitable businessman. The generous bump came about after the former Cabinet Secretary of State for Culture changed his position on assigning Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous house a ‘Grade I’ listing.
The Undershaw home is where Doyle, the “Sherlock Holmes” creator, lived between 1897 to 1907. Decades after Doyle sold the property, and it functioned as a hotel before closing its doors in 2004. The DFN Charitable Foundation bought it in 2014 and established a Stepping Stones School for special needs children.
