Although Small is extremely private about her personal life, she has been in a relationship with photographer Daniel Bridge, and the couple has two children together, Leo and Zack. After having their second child, Bridge reportedly gave up his profession to become a full-time house-husband, and the two are rumored to be living together. Small is currently playing Rose Marshbrook in the crime-drama series The Bay.
