With only 12 episodes, comedy sitcom Fawlty Towers’ brief stint on television was enough to make it one of the most beloved series in the country. Originally aired in 1975, the show featured Connie Booth and John Cleese as the hilarious duo Polly Sherman and Basil Fawlty.
Fans of the show might be surprised to find that the pair were married in real life, having tied the knot in 1968. However, the union only lasted ten years before their separation in 1978. Fawlty Towers was recently picked up for a re-run by BBC, with its repeat airing on the network in March 2021.
