Sean “P Diddy” Combs – Art
Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, wears several hats as a music producer, rapper, and business mogul. He added art collector to the list when he bought a piece by Kerry James Marshall for $21.1 million.
The piece called Past Times was painted by Marshall in 1997, and it went up for sale at the Sotheby’s in 2018. It depicts an African American family enjoying a picnic at a park in Chicago, and it’s currently the most expensive piece sold by an African American artist. Swizz Beatz, who is another well-known art collector, introduced P. Diddy to Marshall’s work.
