Multi-award-winning actor Gene Hackman once lived in this beachfront house in Carmel. It was put up for sale along with two other properties, marketed as a compound, for $79 million. In 2017, a buyer shelled out $27 million for this manse.
The other property, called the Stone House, spans over 12,600 square feet and has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. In 2020, Hackman opened up about his decision to leave the lucrative industry, revealing that a stress test was the determining factor. Apparently, the doctor told him that what he is subjecting his body to was wreaking havoc on his heart.
